Monastery Marathon- Alchi, Likir, Basgo...

Literally phenomenal; the parked car rolled backwards up the hill! Magnetyczne pole- przyciagnelo pod gorkie  samochod.

Where the Indus meets the Zanskar. Zanskar(ta kremowa) wplywa do Indusa

The beautiful village of Alchi. Przepiekna wioska Alchi.

Inside the temple we were lucky enough to hear the older monks sing, pray and play music. The younger monks seemed a little less impressed and sat in the back and giggled whilst turning straws into microphones. Mielismy niesamowite szczescie, wewnatrz swiatyni mnisi modlili sie spiewajac i grajac( cos jak jazz).Mlodzi mnisi sie troszke nudzili  i na koncu sali wygupiali sie , przerabiali slomki na sluchawki z mikrofonami...

Przepiekne malowidla na scianach, im dluzej patrzysz wym wiecej widzisz....

Amazing wall paintings- the longer you look, the more you see.

We loved the wide range of offerings; money, lollipops, bananas, coca cola and chocolate bars. Datki skladane dla mnichow,

Basgo monastery.

Such an amazing secluded place. We listened to the most beautiful singing and I've never felt so calm. Niezwykle miejsce, niemal opustoszale, tylko mnich gral na bebenkach i spiewal w ciemnosci swiatyni, niezapomiane przezycie...

Another nice photo from Alex.

  1. Az sie wierzyc nie chce, ze Wy widzicie to wszystko w naturze. Przepiekne widoki, malowidla i wrazenia. Dzieki Waszemu blogowi my tez podziwiamy te cuda i cieszymy sie razem z Wami. Na takich wysokosciach slonce prazy pewnie niemilosiernie. My korzystamy z jego ciepelka wsrod naszej ojczystej zieleni w ogrodku, cieszymy sie roslinnoscia i raczymy jagoda kamczacka i pysznymi ekologicznymi truskawkami. Pychotka i bomba witaminowa. 2. Wowwwwww how amazing are these new pictures my loves….incredible sights, what a life you’re having! (this part of the journey would not do for me of, being a lifelong asthma sufferer I’ve always been advised to avoid holidaying where there is breathtaking scenery. While I’m on this, there are a couple of healthy safety issues here. Next time you go swimming and Bartosz starts throwing rocks at you, the helmet should have been worn …and during the cricket as well of course, and a box for Bartosz obviously – you’ll have to explain tat one to him.) But seriously…..It was so moving to hear you say Zoz that you have never felt so calm. How blessed you are that you can find that place in your heart and mind at any time. Meanwhile all goes on here, Martha’s Shakespeare experiment was a sensation. One the best Shakespeare productions I’ve seen and now we’re really looking forward to going to Edinburgh….nothing to report on Ben and Phoebe…all goes well, night before last I took Neil (old) to see Neil (Young), for the former’s 60th Birthday (Remember a quick Mexican then the gig at the Appollo with Tommy using the spare ticket?) and very soon we’re going to watch Yoko and the plastic Ono band perform the last album she and John made together….So that was the news, here’s the weather…basically light to heavy drizzle, and grey skies with the occasional, stunningly bright outbursts of sunshine emanating from your wonderful shining happy faces set against that beautiful blue sky. EEE, tha’ knows, when I was a young we would nobbut travel around Europe, Europe? (I hear a voice say) We dreamed of going to Europe, all we could manage were a daytrip to Filey. Luxury….we used to ……etcetc.....I keep looking and Barbara’s comments, wishing I could understand them…but actually I think they are probably pretty much on the same lines, how happy and proud she is to see the two of you so happy and contented after all of your really hard work . Please pass on our love to your family Bartosz. Love you millions Zoz and you’re amazing Bear. Daddy xxxxx

When l listen to my Buddhist temple bell CD l shall have your pictures in my mind.
You are so lucky, just keep on enjoying.
Love to you both, Lesley xxxx

  4. Dear both, I can’t tell you the joy it is to see these wonderful places that I think will always stay in your hearts. And read of your experiences - the thrills and the fun and the reflections. Thank you so much for sharing it all - it brings it all back. Thank you also for even setting to with this blog – it’s just brilliant. I hope you scour around for our comments because it’s a hilarious challenge of happenchance where they end up appearing! Or at least that’s how I find it to be........ Except that’s part of the fun. I’m already excited about the next instalment (no pressure!) Much love. X
