Chiang Mai

There are more than 300 Temples in Chiang Mai- here's one. W Chiang Mai jest ponad 300 swiatyn, a to jedna z nich.

We went to see some Muay Thai, it was a bit brutal at points but amazing to watch and the crowd and atmosphere was incredible. Before each fight they dance and pray to pay respect to their trainers, God, King and each other. Nie moglo sie obyc bez walk Muay Thai, dla niektorych brutalne do ogladania, mi sie podobalo, zwlaszcza walki kobiet i dzieci ha ha... Przed kazda walka ceremonia, taniec oddawany w holdzie swoim trenerom, bogu, krolowi oraz przeciwnikowi.

The Three Kings. Trzech kroli.

Chinese tourists on segways. Chinscy turysci na sawayach.

These boots were made for walking...Sahai enjoyed hiding everyone's shoes. Sahai zabawial sie w ukryj sandaly.

Leszek, Sahai and Bartosz at Namo.

Despite the relaxed look the massage actually really hurts. The masseuse was lovely though and we had a good laugh at my whimpering, especially when she cracked my toes! Zoe pomimo zrelaksowanego wygladu, lekko cierpiala, wlasnie przekonala sie, ze masaz boli. Masazystka byla bardzo mila, razem chichotaly, zwaszcza kiedy paluszki Zoe strzelaly.

Don't drop the baby. Nie upusc dziecka.

Leszek following the jeep. Leszek podazal za nami, a my na pace jeppa.

The old city is set in a square surrounded by canals and every side and corner has a huge stone gate. The city walls are still standing in some places and are 700 years old. Stare miasto to kwadrat otoczony fosa, gdzieniegdzie pozostalosci murow, kilka bram na obrzezach. To miasto ma 700 lat.

Leszek and Maiko took us to the hot springs for the day. You can buy eggs and boil them yourself in the hottest pool. Leszek i Maiko w niedzielne popoludnie zabrali nas do goracych zrodel. Tuz przed wejsciem mozna kupic koszyczek z jajkami by ugotowac je w jednym z goracych basenow.

The geysers.

They've made a stream that runs from the geysers through a little park and it's a great place for the children to play whilst everyone else dips their feet. Warning- don't go too far upstream the water gets boiling, literally. Zbudowano tam kanal ktory biegnie od gejzerow poprzez park, w ktorym dzieci moga dokazywac a rodzice moczyc nogi. Jesli idziesz  pod prad strumieniem woda robi sie coraz bardziej goraca...

The mineral swimming pool is brilliant it makes your skin super soft. Basen z ciepla woda mineralna, pomarszczylismy sie w kilka minut...

Znow na pace, super, w tajlandi dozwolone....

We like the ancient stone Stupas the best. Guess we'll love Cambodia. Starozytna Stupa (kopiec,pełniący funkcję relikwiarza) i starsze czesci miasta podobaly nam sie najbardziej.

The Sunday walking market is full of incredible food. Niedzielny jarmark uliczny zapelniony niesamowitymi przysmakami.

Quails' eggs.

Mini sweet pastries. Mini ciasteczka kruche.

Along the market walkway there were a few groups of blind musicians who were absolutely fantastic. Best music we've heard so far in Thailand. Wzdluz chodnika porozstawialy sie byly zespoly slepych muzykow, grali calkiem, calkiem.

Artwork on the walls of the women's prison, which is apparently a tourist attraction. Mury wiezienia dla kobiet.

The joy of fans. Milo jest stanac pod wiatraczkiem.

Maiko cooked us an amazing lunch. Thank you! Maiko ugotowala wspanialy obiad. Dziekujemy!

Daddy's little helper. Pomocnik tatusia.

Finally we did something productive! Wreszcie cos zrobilismy.

We had a great time in Chiang Mai. It's a beautiful city and the countryside around it is so lush and green. We owe a massive thank you to Leszek, Maiko and Sahai for being amazing hosts, guides and companions. We had such a great time with you guys and it was so lovely to finally meet Sahai, who is incredible. We are in Pai now and are spending our days exploring the countryside by bike; the hills, jungle and waterfalls are fantastic and the way of life here is lovely and lazy and slow. Lots of love to everyone back home and hope you are all enjoying your holidays. We miss and think of you always.
